Middlesbrough Old Convent Gardens 3013-2023
Ten years on from the forced imposition of commercial wheelie bins in 2013.
Is it time to contact the Minister of Housing and claim compensation!!!
Old Convent Gardens for 10 years a fly tippers paradise repeated residents complaints result little or no real action taken by the landlord or local authority to combat what is effectively a serious crime. Adding insult to injury 13 Group Housing officers treat residents who raise complaints in abusive aggressive and intimidating manner. These officers should not be working in public services. Giving the impression residents are and always have been an inconvenience to 13 Group Housing Officers other wise quiet and peaceful working day. The forgotten fact is 13 Group work for the direct benefit and pleasure of ALL residents... and 13 Group employees are not there to be served by residents it is abhorrent the way residents are treat by 13 Group.
Rubbish was on the Left & Rubbish was on the Right
The might of 13 Group do not give a damn !!!
In 2013 resident were asked
about proposed bin containment areas being placed around the site. Prior to that Fly Tipping was never an issue Old Convent Gardens was regarded as the show piece
site by the landlord. The survey and consultation carried out at the time was little more than a whitewash. The Landlord had made the decision....
residents are getting industrial size waste bins and timber built housing stations whether they like it or not.
The consultation result was over 90% of residents voted against the scheme. Residents highlighted a few of the pitfalls... more litter, elderly residents
struggling with over size waste bins, Fly Tipping and a general running down of the complex. On the day contractor came to install the waste bin areas
residents refused to move cars the areas designated for the so called bin stores were to be placed on precious car parking space.
After a lot of consternation by the workers most if not all bin stores were placed in areas not designated in the planning documents.
One needs to ask is this act not illegal?
Making matters worse
Middlesbrough Council Refuse Department had not been informed about the new waste bin arrangements. Residents found this strange as the housing officers
had clearly and repeatedly stated... this new waste disposal system was under orders of Middlesbrough Council. Yet Middlesbrough Council Refuse Department
were clueless about the industrial waste bins on site and for several weeks sent wagons without the lifting apparatus needed. Within days Fly tipping started
in earnest the landlords solution was fit the doors of the bin stores with locks. This was a brilliant solution until a few weeks later it was realised
the refuse department were never given keys so the waste bins could not be emptied. And in a Fred Karno Circus comedy routine residents had not been given
keys either. But by that time all and sundry realised this was a new local Fly Tippers and bin divers paradise. After 10 years (2013-2023) in the making bin
diving and fly tipping is as rife as ever. The only conclusion from this ongoing fiasco: Lions led by Donkeys.
